Let me put y'all on some lore...

Humbly, I'm Valerie Roman—talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show-stopping, spectacular... jk. But for real though, I'm the creator of Wanderlust Pressed Productions! I've poured my entire being into creating this business and couldn’t be more excited to share it with the world... FINALLY! Grab some popcorn, it’s storytime.

First, My Character Arc…

I’m a proud Latina born and raised in the lovely city of Austin, Texas. My mom always had me looking spotless growing up, so I was always dolled up before leaving the house. She’s definitely the reason I fell in love with all things beauty and fashion. Fast forward to middle school. My nail obsession started with my best friend, cousin (basically my sister), twin flame, Paola — the icon herself! She’d whip out wild designs, and naturally, I thought, “I wanna do that!” However, this was the peak of insecure Val. Imagine: me sitting at the classic wooden foldable table every Mexican household has, painting my nails for hours, only to take it all off because I was scared people would make fun of me… BOOO! 

So naturally, I put my nail painting days on hold through middle and high school because I was also too busy being a multifaceted queen. Between band, broadcast, and creating montages of my trips, I barely had time to think about nails. Plus, I couldn’t have my nails done during marching season. Womp, womp.

Comeback Season

I attended the University of North Texas and studied Media Arts — GO MEAN GREEN!! 💚🦅 Every year since senior year of high school, I’ve been attending Austin City Limits Music Festival. You already know I create a PowerPoint every year to plan my outfits down to the T. In 2021, I decided to do my big one and create my own nails for the first time since middle school. *gasp* Salon prices were a little over my budget for the wild designs I wanted, and I knew I only wanted them temporarily. So, I did my research and discovered the wonderful world of press-on nails!

Spoiler alert: I ended up spending way more on supplies than I would’ve at the salon, but hey, with girl math, I have free nails for years! Anyway, I sketched out my nail designs, making sure every single nail coordinated perfectly with my outfits for all three days of the festival. Because I’m iconic and everything needs to coordinate, duh! After some trial and error, I dedicated a solid day and a half to making those nails… yeah, I fully committed.

Since then, I’ve been creating press-ons for every occasion. I even practiced on my college friends, and I’m so grateful for their patience while I took forever making something as simple as solid-colored press-on nails.

The Start of Something New

Fast forward to post-college, I was in Dallas, Texas, with my soulmate, my lovely king of a boyfriend, Lewis, eager to dive into my press-on nail business. I was hit with a serious case of FOMO, missing all my amazing family and friends back in Austin. I found myself having lots of mental breakdowns wondering what in the world I was doing in Dallas. So, we moved back!!

A Star Was Born: Wanderlust Pressed Productions

I've been grinding, working all day, staying up all night—sweat, tears, excitement, literally any emotion you can think of. I went through it all, but it was worth it. All of this for my firstborn child, Wanderlust Pressed Productions. My goal is simple: to create an experience where getting your nails done feels fun, comfortable, and affordable. These nails are reusable, so you’re not just investing in a style; you’re also saving money every time you wear them again. This allows you to ✨dazzle✨ in every setting while keeping your budget intact.

I’m so, so, so grateful for everyone who supports me and guided me through the process. ¡Mil gracias a mi mamá, papá y hermana Arlina por apoyarme! Los quiero mucho mucho mucho! Biggest shoutout to my sister, Arlina, for creating my logo. It was the first thing that was created for this business, and I remember crying over it because it was getting real, and she’s super talented.
